Crab Cove New Year

The tide had receded

When the year was less than 24 hours in,
The Flaneur returned to an elysium
of winter birds and evocative ruins

 Late sun delineated familiar haunts

 A sphinx contemplates the remote

All your cities lie in dust

  Lion and stag,
 torso and trousers,
The moon got involved

Red trees and green grass,
January the first

1 January 2015
