Estuarine Illuminations

Don't you worry
don't you worry
the whole world's
in too big a hurry

Pearls Before Swine
"Drop Out"
(RIP Tom Rapp)

I did and don't regret
doing so

Saturday

Out strolling
on a Saturday afternoon
as per usual

Here's this place
one see it from
everywhere
that's anywhere

Let's drop by, shall we?
Should I ring first?

The entire place
just reeks of class

A coat of arms
over the entrance
That says everything
doesn't it

Dwelling here in Oakalnd
at a dizzying height

The art of living,

really

Cheeky

Servant's quarters
no doubt

Let's turn the corner
Shall we?

Let's have a nice
Saturday in the Park

Here
what's all this then?

What?
Wonder Woman
turning into a phallus?

How very curious indeed

Uh oh
It sees me

Sunday

Sunday morning walk

Mind-blowing
BART maintenance
is now allowing
the XO vessels
to remain for weeks

Urban convergence
a new hub of activity
on Washington

The wet grass
glimmered
prismatically

Monday

In the vicinity of
Stoned again
Oakland main library

Formidable
 clouds today

High above the estuary
as I very often am

Notice that
the city has allowed
long term campers
to dig in

The dream of running
away but still
being here

This guy has
an elaborate set up
like Gilligan's Island

Of course avifauna
other wildlife
and other people
are rather prevented
from enjoying that spot

Far be it from me
to judge

The Holy Ghost
can move in you
if you can stop
resenting other people

Some Flowers on Manila

Red and blue
my Leo colors

Walking here to
the Rockridge library
just now
Irrepressible flora
the euphoria of Spring

A chaotic yet
charming
 front garden

De facto
Bonzai

Can never capture
the indigo hue
of these old friends

Splendid form
Colors really

The Left Side of Berkeley

Multi-culty butterfly
in the Irish Mexican
African American
side of town

Home to La Pena
and the radically
rocking Irish pub
The Starry Plough

Radical America unite
before the Fascists
get their way

La Pena's over the top
3-D mural
depicting you know
the struggle

I co-curated and contributed to
an exhibition
of art and graphics
with Paul Buhl in 1983
which I laboriously
hung single handed
at La Pena
Faraway radicals laughed
when I crabbed that I found
a splash of frijoles
on one work

Stage door on the sidewalk
to the world-famous
Starry Plough

Many well-known rock
and some folky acts
have played here
 in its long years

I lived on nearby Woolsey
and still regret that
I passed on a suggestion
to see "Tim Buckley's son"
when he played the joint

Saw two shows
UC Berkeley outdoor free show
and Great American in SF
where I was all-access

Breaks my heart
to remember him
and met him
the following year

I'll be OK
after Saint Patrick's
Guinness and Jameson

Provoca-Touring

Conservative Women in Media Panel

Now the UC Berkeley
Young Repub Club
is inviting Z list
alt-right trouble-makers
to stir Trump's shit for him

First Sunday in Lent

Jesus Administered to by Angels
James Tissot c.1886

Adds to my conception
of the Soul

Actually these are from
the first Monday in Lent
I often stop in for prayer then
In the vast cathedral
with perhaps only one or two
other worshippers
and a few regrettable
security guards

Quality of Light

Jesus accepts His burden
A Station of the Cross

Veronica wipes the face
of Jesus

Secular, agnostic,
or just plain scoffer,
Come inside here and
 ye shall be changed

An atmosphere
 permeates
through us

Generous
Senior citizen
crosswalk island
on a barbarous
boulevard

Both sides now,
everyday
miracles

Christ the Light
illuminating
me in my
 transient gloom

Home again
one can not help
but be moved

The weekly Mass hand-out
how utterly hip,
Symbolist Christ

Tissot's expression
of mystical
visionary experience

Tenebrous
nightfall

There's a light
that still shines
in the darkest hours
