Ambulatory Autumn: Part the Second

Great sinewy back of a giant

Thriller on Manila
a side trip off College avenue
to a sphinx-like neighborhood
in Berkland

At the Rockridge library
There's one by RAY

You wrote your name
your costume
and what candy you hoped to get

In Santa Rosa not far away
the home of Charles Schultz
is burning down today

This place just takes
the skulls they have
lying around the house
shrouds them and
hangs them in the yard

He turned toward me
for a better portrait

Actually it's quite in
the traditional spirit of
Halloween

Bird of Paradise
like Kubrick's LSD
sequence
in 2001,
meaningful cosmic
shapes and colors

Uh-oh
this house

Yikes
a rat smoking a cigarette

Think I'll skip this place
for trick-or-treat

Incarnadine trees shiver

Really a quaint street
but rest assured
 they won't build them
like this again

The way we came

Take a look back

see if anybody followed us

All this under smoky skies
from the on-going North Bay fires
a really scary scenario,

Maybe I'll go see a movie
in an air-conditioned theater
Hope I don't run into
that creepy kid again

Friday the 13th of October
