Summer Pleasures, Summer Bummers

When the Summer is resplendent
I'm out of doors
time spent indoors
is almost always wasted

Every day is comfortably on the cool side
with plenty of afternoon sunshine
then we are subsumed by the
Ever present marine influence
of prehistoric sea fog

Time to stock up on Cannabis

Yosemite in July light

First I require a transfusion
of cash to hit the little shop

Sweet and Sour Kush (Sativa)

The arrogant narcissists
everyone hated in high school
get elected to office
and get drunk on a shot of authority
can't restrain themselves from making
onerous oppressive absurd rules
for careful thoughtful herb lovers

Latest perverse kick
was to impose non see-through
difficult to open packages
any kid could open with sissors

A small amount of alcohol
can kill a kid but they
don't require child-proof caps on booze

Lovely buds though

Moonstone Kush
(Indica dominant hybrid)
You can see the purple

Seal Rocks in July

My bad bank won't miss
the funds I withdrew,
1920 California architecture

Pricey ice cream place
right across the street
has a perpetual line
But as I mention
I have other gratification in mind

Trump Baby Blimp
Bring me his head
Embarrassing and betraying us
to make America great again

The 12 bus was no-show
So I hopped another bus
and walked the remainder

America, I smoke marijuana
every chance I get

1956
The year Howl was published
including a poem by Allen Ginsberg
written about his job
at the Oakland Greyhound station
a short distance from here
in an America a long way gone

I find myself
on an unusual embankment
a blank canvas
for mental action painting

On an agreeable Summer's day

Sunbathing with Fido
I wanted to get her
remarkably bright tattoos
but she flopped over

As a butterfly
as an opalescent bee
I am drawn to deep colors

Yikes! a repurposed
Oakland police car

Skull-headed ghosts of cops
were off elsewhere

 Another car

Another denizen
of Oakland

Enchanting flowering shade tree
I don't hesitate to go and sit under

I'm in a florid state
of efflorescence today
Had Canna-chocolate too

A young Mother walked her baby past
the bench where I sat
I was peaking and very smiley,
He smiled back the most beautiful smile
No pain no baggage...it did my old heart good
I told her so and I tried a photo
but the Phone-cam storage was over-full
I can still see him with my eyes closed

To let go of one's
day-to-day concerns,
an invariably healing thing

Attended a thriller the other night
Violent Mexican border
US hegemony porn perhaps
But I stayed riveted throughout

It was well after midnight
when my late show got out
not only was the street deserted
but so was the entire theater
 including employees

A few blocks on
a silent shadow
appeared next to me
on the sidewalk,
I startled and the guy apologized

We walked and talked a little
a black street guy
with a twisted leg

In front of the men's shelter
sleeping bags with sleepers in them
too late for inclusion

Count my blessings including
home comfort

Excellent white peach
yoghurt and honey,
I don't like white flour
or most white rice
But I dig white corn
and white peaches the most
