First Sunday in Lent

Jesus Administered to by Angels
James Tissot c.1886

Adds to my conception
of the Soul

Actually these are from
the first Monday in Lent
I often stop in for prayer then
In the vast cathedral
with perhaps only one or two
other worshippers
and a few regrettable
security guards

Quality of Light

Jesus accepts His burden
A Station of the Cross

Veronica wipes the face
of Jesus

Secular, agnostic,
or just plain scoffer,
Come inside here and
 ye shall be changed

An atmosphere
 permeates
through us

Generous
Senior citizen
crosswalk island
on a barbarous
boulevard

Both sides now,
everyday
miracles

Christ the Light
illuminating
me in my
 transient gloom

Home again
one can not help
but be moved

The weekly Mass hand-out
how utterly hip,
Symbolist Christ

Tissot's expression
of mystical
visionary experience

Tenebrous
nightfall

There's a light
that still shines
in the darkest hours
