sour puss Ben Shapiro

and a troll-o-rama by Milo Yiannopolis

pranking the system to save his brand

via photo-op on Sproul plaza

Every time someone gathers

to utter political thoughts

large burly police in riot gear

turn out in large numbers

to glower at them

RAY reads the newspapers

and weeps and laughs

and shares his impressions

Shit defaced again

Defaced Daily Cal

found not far from campus

Renowned Professor Alan Dershowitz showed up

soon afterward to make the public case

for a Liberal acceptance of right-wing Israel,

He labels all of Israel's legitimate critics as both

anti-Semitic and either "hard right" or "hard left,

In doing so he creates a space for the pro-Israel

middle of the roader to think he's progressive,

There is even the widely known category

of P.E.P.

Progressive except Palestine

Anyone who thinks otherwise is a

anti-semite

The irony of course is that

the Cheneys of the US far right

all love Israel

and for the most part contain

expressions of anti-Semitism

in the alt-right,

"The Jews will not replace us"

a bizarre exception to the right

wing loves Israel rule

After Dershowitz's talk a flyer

marred by a swastika was found nearby,

So the affluent unthreatened

but extremely touchy alarmists

who have copyrighted the swastika

duly sound every possible alarm

The people who comprise

 45% of all billionaires,

whose country in question

has a secret extensive nuclear arsenal

and for whom the US is both golem

and sugar daddy

feels threatened

by someone drawing a swastika

That's a lot of mojo to give a young

maybe immature anarchist prankster

Then  came a cartoon published

in the usually very timid Daily Cal

I missed it but the backlash

was unavoidable

Showing little to no tolerance for free speech

 or forgiveness for offence

Dershowitz turned in the most

vitriolic shaming of the lot,

 

Over the top apology

centerfold double spread,

voices of the professionally indignant

and Daily Cal editors

peeing on themselves

No reproduction of

the horrendously offensive

cartoon which was removed

 from the Cal website as well,

not a word about Palestinian human rights

or Israeli war and settlement crimes

You may be an anti-Semite

or even a self-loathing Jew

Does this spider

look Jewish to you?

Dershowitz's feelings were hurt

pugnacious and feisty,

He's seen here as sensitive

as George Mitchell

The Daily Cal make absolutely

no defense of the cartoonist's right

of free speech or justification

for the message it sent

There was no apology from the Daily Cal
about running full page ads for years
by David Horowitz
who also trying to get to speak
in a high-profile appearance at UC


He has just been accused of hate-speech
for a wildly Islamo-phobic poster
he had campus blanketed with
It went so far as to accuse students and faculty
by name as sponsors and supporters
of Islamic terrorism




here's what the Professor wrote:


The offensive cartoon should not be removed,
 as some have suggested.
 It should be widely circulated
along with the names prominently displayed
of the person who drew it and
 the bigoted editors who decided to publish it.


Every potential employer or admissions officer
 should ask them to justify their bigotry.

That got there attention,

that's why they were afraid

to just ban Milo as a fraud

instead of dumping money

on police over-time

Then just when one felt

one was deserted in a wasteland

of alt-right alternate-reality

and lickspittles in positions of authority

roll-over artists in the local press,

came this letter in reply

More temperate perhaps

 more will read and concede

its fairness and accuracy

The cartoon is in fact readily found

kept alive as a specimen of virulent anti-Semitism

by the Jewish press

To my viewing on a smart phone

it didn't even seem to the cartoonist's

intention to make Dershowitz a spider

merely a twisted contortionist of propaganda
