Lakeside Park Garden

October Return
 1.

Supermom

Everyone glad to be here again

Le chat noir who shouldn't dwell in the garden

an old guy feeds it

Bumblebee business

Butterfly Crossing sign

Fall flowers

Autumnal apple in the grass

Outside again

after a long stretch indoors

October 2020

2.

Winter in the Park

I only take my mask off when I'm smoking

Winter comes to Lake Merritt

Regrettably the Garden gate is locked again

Yet flowers grow within you and without you

The greater park is a lovely gambol

I generally always reach my epiphany

 Spring Indicia

Engulphed

Youth restored

The wise old guy occupies his smoke spot bench

Myriad wonders to behold

New flowers reach out for me
in solidarity with the worker bee

Elephantine fronds beckon

The California Poppy crosses the landscape

Incarnadine succulents spring to life

The spiral universe unfurls

Blue-green fingers, I feel you

4.

Demand Spring

Get out of jail free

Fine male mallard looking good

Seems to have something on his mind

The path not taken

Locked out of the Edenic garden once more

The creatures are restive this time of year
with that same thing in mind:
 the extension of life

The web of life

The efflorescence of life

The ageless tree of life

The Flaneur's more recent visits in Spring

Photo-Journal of a Plague Year, Chapter one

Strange days indeed

A sighting

a dog-walker in the empty chasms

Nightlife is over

OPD gone to the mattresses

it's every gang for itself

White is the ghostliest shade

The thirteenth floor

it's everywhere nowadays

A cruise ship quarantined at the Port

Chinatown blues

In a deserted city there's plenty of time for thinking

One asks himself every day

Routine and widespread

While the super-rich have gotten super-richer

Not unnoticed

not entirely unexpected

Civilization under wraps

The California Starlight Express has already gone

 Sundown on the Union

Once-bustling BART stations

Trains remained sparse and socially distant

Then in September

the wildfires came
