Hot Spell in Hell

Coronal Moon

The insane heat retreated
just enough for a more familiar
heat wave
Like melted clockwork
our late Summer as Fall arrives
on Labor Day weekend

Saints protect us

The sky was on fire
for a period in
the late afternoon

3.
Sunday
When ventures out
under the after noon sun
to ascertain if the planet
is still habitable

 How utterly
lackluster

 One jumbo XO vessel
filled with hot Oakland air
and smoke from the wildfires

Remaining section
soon to be gray-washed
even the concrete poles

 All new

A strange transformed residence
maybe Saudis

 Royal purple
crosswalk

Entrance resembles a shark

Blazing sidewalks

Palm trees
spill their guts

 Down Harrison
toward the estuary
the first substantial breeze
rattled the dry carbonated leaves

Looney Toons?
Sylvester and Tweety?
seen it

Parked on my street

Now you're talking

The Big Heat
seemed to ebb

Somehow I managed
by entering
an empty azure
elsewhere
