Cold Moon at Solstice

Cold Moon at Solstice

A Christmas ghost story

  •

The dazzling tree at Jack London Square
Rewoven and restored
after a wanton act of arson

Wintertime Port

Listening here to KPFA
"Pig in a Pen" program
The host Ray Edlund is doing his last show
has been on-air since 1974
Bluegrass & old time music live in the studio today
I dance about in bittersweet celebration

Sentimental moment really

Colors in a twilight zone
walking home

Wind blew down the top of a tree

It landed right near my ritual matchstick pile

Replenished

Spied in a bookstore window

Relaxin at one's pad

Adeste Fideles

 Last Sunday of Advent
 19 December 2021

O it's Lucid Blue
for the holidays

Christmas car today from Massachusetts
A Chinese lady at the bus stop gave me
a fine Lindt chocolate truffle & wished me
happy new year.

A nice iteration of fish and chips
Salmon & Matsumoto sweet potato
Blue Lake green beans with onion & olive
Ancient carols on the box

My go-to Indica these days
blends preternatural
with aforementioned Lucid Blue Sativa

Noel
Night Walk in the
business end of downtown

If you don't see what you're looking for
just ASK

Another corporate totem pole
sort of looks like a real tree

No one looks up at the top
of the Blue Shield building
sees the red and green lights
and feels a rush of Xmas spirit

Corporate Xmas is as empty
as the Christmas presents under this tree

Everyone's gone to the moon

Nobody's living here
for the foreseeable future

 A haunted village

The best lit street in town
were nobody ever walks at night

The ghost of Christmas Present

Back among people
who are alive today

 22 December 2021

After a rainy day
I made my way to
 Slainte for a proverbial pint

They've framed Samuel Beckett
It is actually a crisply focused photograph
made Blonde-on-Blonde vague
by the dim light
Beckett called Bob Dylan
The Poet

 Irish singer rendered notorious
by impulsivity
& chastened by the mob
at the Bob Dylan Fest

Curious to see
how they resolved the arson-damaged Xmas tree

 Saints and begorrah!
You'd never notice

Fresh limbs were wired in

O Tannenbaum!

New bows woven in
where arson once scarred
a Christmas miracle

Floating globes of color in a nearby
buche de Noel

Where the tree meets the Sea
horses

Scant traffic
Not too scary
down here after dark...
alone...after dark
No one will come from the village
After dark
