when I returned all the weeds
were gone but the XOs
were still there

to Sunday
The big bottle
was emptied and lying
on its side with no cap,
It had to have happened
the afternoon I left the XO
I think the weed-choppers
found a bottle of
potable ice-water and drank it
either them or the really
lost homeless Negro
who camps nearby
The imploded XO
looked particularly
sculptural

the night after installation
on Thursday,
in the crepuscule it looked
like a modernist glass vase
